This week has been particularly special at Westwood. A colourful and fun International day on Tuesday which I know everyone enjoyed and a jam packed harvest celebration this morning. Very sadly, I’ve not been able to join you for any of it and you may have been aware of my absence around school. The best laid plans suddenly took an abrupt u-turn when I developed cellulitis in my leg which has been incredibly painful and left me very poorly indeed.
However, I have been kept up to date with all that has been happening and you have clearly all had some wonderful learning experiences. I know how hard the staff worked towards giving a successful international day, with the school ultimately smelling of curry and incense – a perfect way to see the day out. Please keep an eye on the Wiltshire times too, as they were in attendance to mark the occasion on Tuesday. I will very much look forward to returning and finding out all that you have learnt from the day, so please do let me know.
I would like to thank Mrs Hannam for stepping in to lead and for making the Harvest loaf with Clover class, taking what was clearly, a very enjoyable, successful and well supported Harvest celebration. Mrs Hannam sent me this picture of your kind donations. Thank you so much for your generosity, there will be many, many people who will benefit from these goods. As always at Westwood, the sense of teamwork is so strong, so thank you everyone for making this year’s Harvest a great occasion. I am very sad I was unable to make it.
Finally I would like to thank the FoWs for organising a fantastic ceilidh last Saturday night. It was a night of fun and I hope that we will do it again, as it provided many laughs and entertainment.
I would like to wish you all a great weekend and I hope to be back in the my usual seat next week, enjoying first hand the learning and achievement at our school. I shall look forward to seeing you all then.
