I don’t often post during the holidays but I had such a lovely afternoon yesterday I feel that I should! My family and I all had the pleasure of walking the Westwood Scarecrow Trail, for the first time in it’s entirety and an afternoon of fun, head scratching and exercise was had by all. One thing I rarely get to do is to walk around Westwood itself and we were all taken with how beautiful the village is and with so many well kept gardens.
My main reason for posting, though, is to say a HUGE well done to everyone involved in the scarecrow trail. With a theme of children’s books, the standard of scarecrows was staggeringly good, with many, many hours of time and effort clearly having been put in to making the scarecrows and the trail such a wonderful spectacle. My girls had a fantastic time and knew many of the stories as they are favourites of ours for story time and there were many that had two experienced teachers scratching their heads, so there really was something for everyone. After a good three hours (walking at a three year old pace!) we had all had a really super time and felt that this was something geared perfectly for families.
Thank you for welcoming us in to your village and for giving us such a brilliant afternoon’s fun on the last day of our half term. We will be back again next year!
Here is our trail, not in order, only some with numbers and not all of the scarecrows! I didn’t want to spoil anyone’s fun in case you read this before doing it today!
