With the European football championships almost starting, the exciting news is that, as a school we are joining in with the fun by blogging the euros! Rather than explain the concept myself, this text is taken straight from the #BlogtheEuros site, which is run by David Mitchell, the creator of the project at http://clusterblogging.net/blogtheeuros/ In his own words:
During the Euro 2016 Competition from 10th June to 10th July, I will be running a project called #BlogTheEuros. To take part in the project, you must have your own class blog or have one created by the 10th June. The concept is simple… Fill in the form below to register interest and on Monday 6th June at 11am, I will hold a live draw on Youtube where your school will be matched up with a participating country from the competition.
Once you have been given your country, the task is simple… Your children are to blog about ANYTHING to do with that country. You can keep it football related should you wish to by completing match reports, player profiles, statistical analysis, data handling, commentary video/audio or anything at all.
All the participating schools/teams will be linked here and you will be encouraged to visit the teams’ blogs that you are playing in the competition.
So, the draw has taken place and our #BlogtheEuros country is……ENGLAND! As you can imagine, the children are very excited, so if they are interested in taking part, anyone can blog about about the euros and please encourage them. You are welcome to comment and take part yourself. This has hte potential to be a huge amount of fun whilst developing writing skills at the same time. Do check out the website, as we are paired with Childwall Valley Primary School in Liverpool, who are also going to be blogging about England at the Eurps. Their blog address is: http://year62015.cvpblogs.net/
Have fun everyone and let’s keep our fingers crossed for at least progression past the group stage…
